Dakkan EP

Dimness

It’s not astonishing that Dimness, as a pure-blooded Japanese, stuffs his new EP “Dakkan” with a generous amount of far eastern sounds. His second publication with Subotage Records lets the audience sink a vast depth deeper.

The first track „Submarine“ impresses with tremendous rough dynamic as well as reverberation ad infinitum. Every single sound is meaningfull placed and escorts the listener down to the sea floor.

Steppa“ provokes as a halfstep-DnB track an unavoidable head banging.

The Dubstep version of „Steppa“ starts with traditional japanese filmsoundtracks. The fathomless, building brick crumbling subbass goes along with sophisticated hihat patterns and an extraordinary airsound – it’s a club track without any doubt!

You can learn more about dynamic range by listening to the fourth song „Rush“. After the impressive and emotional introduction, „Rush“ goes on with an ultralow power sub and a brilliant hi hat line. Partial percussion and beautiful filter-sweeps make dancing to this track a club experience.

The last song “Joytech” stands for the sunset in the orient. A lovely melody combined with technoid rhythms helps you get away from it all.

To enjoy this EP by Dimness is a must for anyone.
